Hewden invests in telehandlers

17 March 2016

UK-based rental company Hewden has expanded its fleet with an investment in 30 new Genie compact telehandlers.

In the latest in a series of significant investments, the company bought the Genie GTH-2506 models, which boast a lifting height of up to 5.79m, and a lifting capacity of 2 tonnes at maximum height.

Hewden said each machine was also equipped with the latest Trackunit Track & Trace device, a fleet management system that provides telemetry including hour-meter reporting, location tracking, and machine utilisation rates. It also provides security benefits such as geo-fencing, motion alarms and remote machine disabling.

Hewden access product manager Danny Williams said, “We chose the GTH-2506 telehandler for its simplicity of operation and robust, compact design which is ideal for work on sites where space is tight.

“Another important factor was the advanced telematics that come with the machines. Plant and attachment theft remains a major issue in the industry, so with these new telehandlers fitted with the latest telematics and tracking devices, we’re tackling the issue and reducing the risk of downtime for our customers.”
