Herc acquires in California

Herc Rentals has acquired independent equipment rental company Summit Equipment Rentals. No financial details of the deal have been disclosed.

Based in Southern California, Summit Rentals has three locations in Menifee, Chula Vista and Santa Ana and employs around 70 members of staff.

Its fleet includes aerial work platforms, forklifts, earthmoving and construction equipment from the likes of Genie, JLG, Bobcat, Bomag and Terex.

IRN has been told that all existing members of the Summit Equipment rentals staff will remain with the company. 

Mergers and acquisitions specialist Catalyst Strategic Advisors served as the exclusive transaction advisor to Summit Equipment Rentals.

The company has also worked on previous Herc purchases, including Power Rents, Cloverdale Equipment and Rental Equipment Center
