H&C Plant Hire buys 20 JCBs

Construction equipment rental firm H&C Plant Hire in the UK has completely renewed its backhoe loader fleet, replacing its originally 3CX Sitemaster models with 20 of JCB’s 3CX Pro Sitemaster units.

A provider of both operated and self drive plant services across the northwest of England, the Manchester-based company’s new 3XC Pro models have a maximum operating weight of 9.5 tonnes and offer maximum digging depth of 6.51m.

Among their standout features is a Stage V compliant, 4.8-litre engine that provides 81kW of power and the manufacturer’s new ECOROAD 6-speed autoshift transmission.

Said to reduce travel times between site by up to 25% and save 15% in fuel, the ECOROAD feature and the3CX Pro’s ability to go to and from construction sites without the need for additional transport was a key factor in H&C’s purchase decision.

Other features included in the Pro backhoe loaders - which will be rented out on long-term contracts - include light guards, front bumper protection, bluetooth radio, integrated LED roof beacons and a new servo seat that, when turned to the opposite direction, automatically switches between loader and excavator controls.
