H&E continues branch expansion

US-based equipent rental company H&E Equipment Services has announced the opening of a new branch, adding a sixth general rental equipment location in Alabama.

Located in Decatur, it will specialise in a range of equipment, including lighting towers, compressors, generators and earthmoving equipment. It includes a a fully fenced yard area, offices and a repair shop.

Josh Benner, branch manager, H&E, said the opening means the company can source equipment from an expanded fleet; “The location of our Decatur branch complements our existing facility in Huntsville, just 20 miles to the east.

“Our territory now provides even greater coverage to northwest Alabama, extending over to Mississippi and also reaching above the state line into Tennessee and down along I-65 and I-22.

“We can serve customers in Decatur, Athens, Hartselle, Vinemont, Hamilton, Russellville, and Florence, as well as Lewisburg and Pulaski, Tennessee, and points in between.”

The branch is the second it has opened this year and 16th since May 2023.

Earlier this year the company said it expects to maintain the rate of depot openings in 2024, with the expectation that between 12 and 15 will open before the end of the year. It opened 14 in 2024 alone, while also acquiring five other locations.

The company, which was founded in 1961, is now present in the Pacific Northwest, West Coast, Intermountain, Southwest, Gulf Coast, Southeast, Midwest, and Mid-Atlantic.
