Two access equipment rental companies in the Italian region of Emilia Romagna have expanded their equipment fleets, adding new truck mounts from Multitel Pagliero.

Based in Maranello, in the Modena region, Piattaforme Patty was founded in 2003. Multitel says the company has grown fast over the past several years, thanks in part to increased activity in the telecommunications and renovation sectors.

As a result, the company’s previous equipment investments have included Multitel’s 35-metre MJ 335 and a 52-metre MJ520 unit with a winch. More recently however, the company made another equipment purchase, adding the MJ450 model with double winch.

Mounted on a 26-tonne, three-axle truck, the MJ450 has a maximum working height of 45.2m. Its horizontal outreach of 32.3m gives a load capacity for the platform of 120kg, which rises to 300kg at 30.3m outreach and 500kg at 26.7m outreach.

The telescopic unit offers 360-degree continuous turret rotation, with the self-levelling basket capable of +/- 180 degrees of rotation, and also features an extendable jib.

Similarly, Collecchio (Parma)-based company Tecnogronda, which was founded in 1979 and that operates as both a construction and mainentenance contractor as well as a rental company, also invested in a Multitel truck mount.

The company added an MJ375 Added to its rental fleet of mobile cranes, self-propelled, and aerial platforms. Mounted on an 18-ton truck, the MJ375 has a maximum working height of 37.5m and an outreach of 25.8m with a basket capacity of 120kg, 280kg at 24.3m outreach, and 500kg at 20.8m.

“The performance of the turret and basket is identical to the MJ450,” said Multitel. “Up to 500kg load capacity, overall dimensions of 8 meters, and the ability to work below ground reach at -8m make the MJ 375 the ideal platform for working in urban settings where space and access are restricted.”

Both of the truck mounts supplied to Piattaforme Patty and Tecnogronda are equipped with EVE, Multitel’s electronic control system, which is said to ensure the machine’s speed, linearity, and fluidity of vertical and horizontal movements are “always in perfect balance”, while preventing sudden lurches. It also features telematics capabilities, with GPS tracking, machine status, parameterisation and remote diagnostics included.
