Global Rental Alliance holds mid-year meeting

24 August 2015

A mid-year “Webinar” meeting of the Global Rental Alliance (GRA) was held on 19 August involving representatives from equipment rental trade associations around the world.

Representatives of the GRA aim to increase the profile of the industry worldwide and benefit their individual membership, and last week they discussed both common initiatives and unique issues for their respective associations such as their economic, social and regulatory environment.

Membership initiatives are central to each association. Of particular note among the group were standards and education for the party and events and aerial equipment industries, which impact on safety.

The availability of skilled labour remains a topic of priority, as does equipment theft and efforts to address theft rates. Representatives identified topics for further discussion at their 13th annual meeting, to be held on 25 February 2016, at The Rental Show in Atlanta, USA.

The Global Rental Alliance is a partnership of seven independent rental organisations throughout the world, including the Associação De Locadoras (Brazilian Rental Association), Canadian Rental Association, European Rental Association, Hire Association Europe (UK), Hire & Rental Industry Association (Australia), Hire Industry Association of New Zealand and the American Rental Association.

The countries continue to share best practices that benefit their members and maintain a focus on equipment technology developments, industry research data and statistics, conference programmes and education and training.
