Generac lights up Paris airports

26 May 2015

Generac Mobile Products, based in Milan, Italy, has supplied a special version of its VT1 and Hydro lighting sets to French company Aéroports de Paris (ADP) for use in maintenance works and emergency situations.

Paris-based ADP is the authority that owns and manages the 14 civil airports and airfields in and around the French capital. These include Charles de Gaulle International, Orly and Le Bourget.

The order was placed through Generac distributor Jardins et Loisirs Claye Souilly, a regular supplier to ADP.

To meet ADP’s criteria, the Generac engineering team made some alterations and additions to the standard VT1 and Hydro products.

The 8.5-metre hydraulic vertical mast was fitted with the latest, energy saving, 450 watt LED lamps, with an individually powered tilting mechanism.

Generac also added two coil holder reels containing cables to provide auxiliary power to two tripod lighting sets, which are also fitted with LED lamps.

The VT1 sets were fitted with an outlet socket to power small tools and the Hydro sets included an emergency module with an integrated power generator. There is also an inlet socket ready to conveniently recharge the engine battery should it become discharged.

ADP chose Generac because of its ability to respond positively to requests to adapt and alter standard products to equip them for specialist applications.

Generac Mobile Products is the new name for the former Tower Light business.
