Trench sheets are among the products available from GAP Group's new dedicated non-mechanical plant locations.

UK rental company GAP Group is opening a series of specialist non-mechanical plant depots throughout the country to stock equipment like props, fencing, safety barriers and trench sheets.

One dedicated facility has been running for nine months in Shotts in Scotland and another will be opened in Warrington early in 2010. Others will be added to existing GAP depots in Plymouth and Bradford, and eventually all six of GAP's six UK regions will have depots specialising in non-mechanical plant.

The depots - all of which have delivery trucks equipped with lorry loader cranes - stock equipment including concrete barriers, skips, traffic separators, ladders, staging boards, trestles, steel props, temporary fencing, trench struts and sheets, manhole lifting pins and road plates.

The equipment is included in a separate section within GAP's new 2010 Catalogue. The catalogue also includes details of various GAP initiatives, such as its 'Green Action Plan' and 'Split Second Safety'.

In addition, there is a new products section that highlights recent introductions to the fleet such as solar powered traffic lights, glass fibre podium steps and the 'Plant Nappy' spill containment trays.
