Exports and domestic sales of Chinese excavators and loaders surge

An increased focus on exports to developing countries and demand for electric machines at home has seen sales of Chinese excavators and loaders surge.
That’s according to the China Construction Machinery Association (CCMA).
It reported a 23% increase in sales of excavators and loaders within China for the first half 2025, along with increases in exports of 10% and 4% respectively.
When it came to domestic sales, the CCMA said that the accelerating trend towards electrification was behind the increase.
Meanwhile, exports to regions like Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia, as Chinese OEMs seek to open up new markets, drove the increase in sales overseas.
Yao Dongxu, director, loader manufacturing, Guangxi LiuGong Machinery Co, told Chinese state broadcaster CCTV, “In the first half of this year, our electric loader exports saw a 120 percent year-on-year increase. Demand for them now makes up more than half of our total production schedule, and our monthly production volume has surpassed 1,000 units.”
