Euro Auctions enters the US

23 October 2012

UK-based construction machinery and industrial equipment auctioneer, Euro Auctions, is expanding into the US with the acquisition of a new auction site in Newnan, near Atlanta, Georgia. The US opening follows on from Euro Auctions’ international expansion into Australia in 2011.

The company, based in Dromore, Northern Ireland, said the first auction and the new facility could be held in early 2013.

Euro Auctions has bought a 65-acre site, formerly owned by ADESA Atlanta Truck & Equipment Auction. The site offers 60 acres of hard paving, ideal for presenting large pieces of equipment.

Onsite facilities include a main drive-through auction hall, office space, a check-in and sale day administration building, cafeterias, and two preparation and spray workshops where Euro Auctions staff can prepare equipment and machinery for sale.

According to Jonnie Keys, general manager of Euro Auctions, the US facility will host its first sale in early 2013 with plans to hold regular auctions from that point on.

“Euro Auctions has long aspired to enter the USA market but plans have always hinged on finding a suitable facility,” said Mr Keys.

“This site was chosen by Euro Auctions because of the quality of the facility as well as its excellent location. It also provides us with the unique opportunity to be located amongst the hub of the American equipment industry, which will be instrumental to the success of this venture."
