ERA meets China rental association in Beijing
29 September 2025
The association attended the BICES 2025 construction machinery exhibition in Beijing in September.
The ERA was invited by the rental branch of the Chinese Construction Machinery Association (CCMA) to participate in their annual conference, held on 22 September in Beijing, the day before the BICES 2025 exhibition.
Our secretary general, Carole Bachmann, represented ERA at the event and delivered a presentation on Trends and transformation in the European equipment rental industry. The conference gathered around 300 participants and served as a platform to exchange different perspectives on the future of equipment rental.

In our presentation, Carole highlighted the main forces currently reshaping the rental sector in Europe. These include the push towards sustainability and low-emission equipment, the integration of digital tools to improve fleet management and customer interaction, and the shift towards circular economy principles as rental becomes a driver of resource efficiency.
She also underlined the industry’s resilience in responding to economic and supply chain challenges, and how collaboration across Europe is enabling rental companies to innovate and scale new business models.
The conference took place just ahead of BICES 2025 (23–26 September), one of the most significant trade shows for the construction industry in China.
ERA’s participation reflects our continued engagement with international stakeholders and our commitment to promoting the European rental industry on the global stage.
