EquipmentShare on telematics and IoT at ALH conference

Willy Schlacks, President and co-founder of EquipmentShare – the rental and telematics business – will give delegates at the ALH Conference an insider’s guide to telematics, the Internet of things and equipment robotics.The conference is in San Diego, California on September 12.

EquipmentShare operates from 27 locations around the US and rents equipment, offers its own brand-neutral telematics system, and will acquire and manage fleets of equipment on behalf of contractors.

Schlacks, who co-founded the business with his brother Jabbok in 2014, will describe how the company’s fast-growing bricks and mortar rental business is using telematics, and update delegates on progress in developing remotely operated machinery.

The business is also investing in predictive maintenance technology, aggregating historical operational data on machines to predict when parts-replacement or preventive maintenance will be required.

The brothers have more than 40 years of combined experience working in and running commercial construction businesses in the Midwest. EquipmentShare was founded after they won a ‘Startup Weekend’ in Columbia, MO, following which they received backing from the Silicon Valley investor Y Combinator and other venture capital sources.

Schlacks’ is one of 12 industry experts who will speak at the Access, Lift & Handlers (ALH) Conference and awards in San Diego, California, on September 12.
