US-based manufacturer Doosan Portable Power is now offering a package of special features aimed at improving the operation of mobile generators working in regions of extreme cold.

Called the ‘Tundra Package’, the special features include heaters for the engine coolant, lube oil and batteries; a battery charger and heated breather hose to prevent crankcase vapours from freezing in cold temperatures. The new additions will ensure generators run in temperatures as low as -40ºC/ºF. The Tundra Package is available as a factory option on all new generators, or can be installed by an authorised dealer as an aftermarket purchase

According to Todd Howe, manager, global generator products at Doosan, the new Tundra Package is expected to be popular with clients operating in remote oil drilling areas of North America.

“The Tundra Package is designed to provide peace of mind for mobile generator operators located in remote, frigid conditions with additional assurance their generator won’t fail them,” Mr Howe explained.
