Doosan has launched a 14 tonne crawler excavator. The machine was unveiled at the Plantworx exhibition in Bruntingthorpe, UK, as the UK is said to be one of the largest markets for this class of machine.

The DX140LC-5 offers a 6.1 m digging depth with a one piece boom, but it can also be fitted with a two-piece for greater manoeuvrability, flexibility, ground reach and dumping height.

Power comes from a four-cylinder Perkins 1204F, which is rated at 85.9 kW and complies with the European Stage IV exhaust emissions regulations. The engine achieves compliance with these regulations using selective catalytic reduction (SCR), but without a diesel particulate filter (DPF).

The excavator is also fitted with Doosan’s Core TMS telematics system as standard, the smallest excavator in the company’s range to include this system.
