Dates and new venue announced for Plantworx 2015

05 September 2013

The next Plantworx construction equipment exhibition will be held from 2 – 4 June 2015 at Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome in Leicestershire, UK. The inaugural event took place at Stoneleigh Park in May and attracted 11,000 visitors.

Explaining the change of venue Rob Oliver, chief executive of organiser, the UK’s Construction Equipment Association (CEA) said, “The CEA is excited by the prospect of growing the Plantworx show at its new Bruntingthorpe location in 2015. The venue allows us to present an event in a single, undivided, area which should provide both a better exhibitor and visitor experience.”

Plantworx exhibition director Simon Frere-Cook added, “Although Stoneleigh Park is geographically very well placed and was an excellent venue for Plantworx in 2013, for future events it is unable to offer us a large enough site for all the stands to be in the same field as has been clearly requested by our Exhibitors. Additionally there would be difficulties over access and parking as well as a clash of dates in future years with other regular events at Stoneleigh Park.”

The area to be used for exhibits at Bruntingthorpe comprises a 1,450 m long runway and taxiway with a grass area for live demonstrations and digging between them. The gross area available is 333,500 m2 – about 45% of which is grass and 55% is hard standing.

According to Bruntingthorpe’s management, the site also offers parking for more than 10,000 vehicles, again on hard standing. It added that the site is also used as a proving ground by several construction equipment manufacturers.
