The rental industry conference, which is organised by the Construction Plant-hire Association (CPA), is a one-day event on Thursday 9 November 2023 at the Heart of England Conference and Events Centre in Coventry.

According to the CPA, which represents over 1,800 equipment rental companies and recently appointed a new chief executive, this year’s focus will enable attendees to discuss how to meet the key difficulties affecting the rental industry.

CPA Chief Executive Kevin Minton, who will retire from the role later this year, said, “We felt that this year’s conference should address the core issues that are of importance right now to CPA members and the wider construction industry, such as the rising cost of fuel and energy, critical supply chain shortages and the difficulties of attracting new recruits to the industry.”

While speakers for this year’s event have yet to be announced, past iterations of the event have seen representatives from Costain, the UK government’s Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, the European Rental Association, GAP Group, HS2, Highways England, JCB and Sunbelt Rentals, take the stage.

“We’re in the process of devising a packed, topical agenda with panel debates and case studies to allow delegates to come away with a deeper understanding as to how they can tackle some of the challenges they currently face,” said Minton.

Panel discussions and debates will be moderated by former BBC news presenter and journalist Merryn Myatt, “who has hosted previous CPA Conferences to great success”.

As well as having the opportunity to speak with industry leaders and experts, conference delegates will also be able to visit a number of construction equipment manufacturers, suppliers and service providers.
