17 March 2021

Another speaker has been announced for the Construction Technology Summit, with James Arnold of Goodfellow Bros to offer a contractor’s perspective of machine control.
Arnold is advanced technology manager for Goodfellow Bros., a fourth-generation family-owned large heavy civil contractor serving the Western US and Hawaii. In this role, he is responsible for managing the company’s use of advanced technology solutions, including machine control.
With more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry and more than 20 years in advanced technology, his responsibilities include creating 3D models; installing, maintaining and updating the Goodfellow Bros. machine control solutions; training operators and layout personnel on the use of the company’s technology solutions, and much more.
Arnold will use practical examples of construction projects that his company has worked on to talk about how machine control is practically used on sites. He will discuss the productivity savings that they can bring, the limits of the current technology, where it might develop next, and how to ensure staff engage with technology.
The first Construction Technology Summit will be held on Tuesday, 11 May, 2021 at 3.00pm (UK: BST). To see a full list of speakers click here.
The Summit’s theme is ‘From machine control to robotics’ and will address how construction equipment productivity can be improved using innovative technology.
