International construction equipment manufacturer Chicago Pneumatic has launched the MS 595 and MS 695 tampers range to increase productivity and manoeuvrability in compaction tasks.

The new range, which the company described as the most compact and lightweight in its 100-year history, provides users with powerful, highly manoeuvrable tampers.

In addition, Chicago said a new 6 inch plate model, alongside the 9 and 11 inch models, allows for work to be carried out in smaller, more enclosed spaces.

Product manager Andrzej Mroziński explained: “We have designed the tampers to provide enhanced efficiency while keeping the rugged reliability people expect.

“Despite incorporating a more powerful engine, the lightweight tampers are easy to transport, while the reduced noise and the ergonomic design provide additional comfort and safety.”

The company said the tampers are equipped with new 4-stroke Honda GXR 120 engines, which offer improved fuel consumption and fewer HC (Hydro Carbon) and NOx (mono-nitrogen oxides) emissions.

The engines offer 3.5 hp (horse power) and have been designed to ensure maximum power in even the toughest environments.
