Champion Hire continues to spend

UK-based rental company Champion Hire has expanded its excavator fleet after placing an order with BTE Plant Sales for 30 new Kubota mini-excavators.
The company said the new £500000 (€623662) purchase was in response to increasing demand for plant and equipment from the market.
It added that the BTE deal formed part of a £1.2 million (€1.5 million) investment in plant and equipment placed by the company in 2014.
Keith White, managing director of Champion Hire, said, "We have operated Kubota machines for many years now and find them well constructed and very reliable machines.
"Demand from our customers is continuing to grow across the region, as the economy recovers, and we shall be adding many more items to our plant fleet over the coming months. It promises to be a very busy year."
John Coulson, depot manager at Champion Hire’s Leeds and Bradford depot, added, “We have seen a significant rise in demand for plant and equipment hire since Christmas and this continues to gather pace on a monthly basis.
"Our customers know that when they are hiring Kubota excavators they have the best machines on the market that allow them to get the job done, whatever the conditions.”
The Kubota order included excavators in the one- to three-tonne category. This included 10 Kubota K008 tracked excavators, 10 Kubota KX016-4 and 10 KX61-3.
These machines will be distributed across Champion Hire’s depots in Sheffield, Leeds and Bradford, Chesterfield, Nottingham and Derby, and Doncaster.
