Bechtel opens Poland office ahead of construction of first nuclear plant

Bechtel is overseeing the design and construction of the plant alongside Westinghouse Electric Company, delivering three AP1000 reactors for Polskie Elektrownie Jądrowe at the Lubiatowo-Kopalino site in Pomerania.

The move follows Bechtel’s opening of an office in Warsaw in 2023. The new office in is located in the Alchemia business complex and will support engineering, construction planning, and project execution.

It has capacity for several hundred employees as the project advances.

Bechtel said it would establish partnerships with regional academic institutions, including Gdańsk University of Technology, as well as local hiring, training, and supplier development initiatives.

The Warsaw office will continue to serve as Bechtel’s central hub in Poland, while the Gdańsk office will function as a key operational and engineering centre supporting project execution in Pomerania.

Leszek Hołda, president of Bechtel Polska, said, “The opening of our Gdańsk office strengthens our presence in Pomerania and brings our team closer to the communities, institutions, and companies helping deliver this project. We are building engineering capability in the region, creating opportunities for Polish professionals, and increasing participation by Polish companies in the project and the broader nuclear supply chain.”
