Czech Republic compressor and genset manufacturer Atmos Chrast has invested €1.5 million in its component production division.

The investment, completed in the autumn, was on new machine tools for its recently developed air-ends. The new tools comprise a grinding machine for screw rotor manufacturing and milling machines for housings and other air-end components. The division also now has a 3D measurement rig.

The investment, which will increase production capacity at the company, was celebrated at a recent event attended by several hundred customers and dealers from Europe and Asia.

Atmos will meanwhile launch a new 7 m3/min class portable compressor in early 2012. The PDP 70 will be driven by a 70 kW Perkins 1104D-44T engine and replace a Cummins-powered Compair C76 model that Atmos was previously selling under its own brand.
