Dubai-based Altaaqa Global recently designed and installed a 24 MW temporary power plant in the Sultanate of Oman to meet increased electricity demands over the summer.

Taking only four days to complete, the power project was one of the fastest installations in the history of the equipment rental industry, claimed the company, which is a subsidiary of Zahid Tractor, Caterpillar dealer in Saudi Arabia.

The 24MW temporary rental power plant will supply power to the electricity grid, supporting it during the summer peak, when there is a significant increase in the use air conditioning and district cooling.

“We are proud to deliver our temporary power solution to the people of Oman,” said Steven Meyrick, managing director of Altaaqa Global. “Our highly experienced rental power team coupled with Caterpillar’s power dense and fuel efficient rental diesel generators is the perfect combination to provide grid optimization and dependable supplementary power.”

The full turnkey solution offers a complete package of power generators, transformers, fuel tanks, distribution panels, electrical accessories, and 24/7 CAT certified power engineers who will manage the temporary power plant.

Altaaqa Global is the recently created worldwide power rental division of Zahid Tractor and a partner with Caterpillar for worldwide international power projects.
