Alimak reports rising orders and profits despite market challenges
26 October 2026
Alimak Group has reported a 16% increase in third-quarter orders and improved profitability, helped by its recent acquisition of Canadian access and fall protection specialist Pro-Bel.
The Swedish construction hoist and access equipment manufacturer recorded orders worth SEK1.79 billion during the three months to the end of September 2026, compared with SEK1.55 billion in the same period last year.
Revenue increased by 8% to SEK1.78 billion, although sales declined by 2% on an organic basis, reflecting continued weakness in construction-related markets.
Operating profit (EBIT) rose to SEK251 million from SEK211 million a year earlier.
Chief executive Ole Kristian Jødahl said: “The Group delivered solid order intake growth and improved profitability in the third quarter, despite continued challenging conditions in construction-related markets.”
The company’s Construction division continued to struggle, with revenue falling by 4% to SEK318 million and profits declining.
Alimak attributed the decline largely to delays in customer projects, particularly in Australia, Canada and the UK, which postponed the conversion of orders into revenue.
However, orders in the division increased by 10%, supported by strong demand in India and Australia. Parts and service activities also performed well, particularly in Australia and the UK.
The company said the Construction division had now recorded three consecutive quarters in which orders exceeded sales.
Cost reduction exercise
Alimak is implementing cost reductions and operational improvements across the group, targeting annual savings of SEK80 million, including SEK30 million in Construction.
Meanwhile, the Facade Access division benefited from the acquisition of Pro-Bel, completed on 16 July for an enterprise value of approximately SEK1.37 billion.
The North American business specialises in suspended access and fall protection systems, broadening Alimak’s presence in the low- and mid-rise building markets.
Pro-Bel contributed SEK36 million to the division’s quarterly operating earnings (EBITA), with Alimak reporting that its integration was progressing according to plan.
Elsewhere, the Industrial division benefited from mining, ports and power projects, while Wind recorded a 26% increase in revenue, supported by equipment deliveries in Northern Europe and the US.
Looking ahead, Alimak warned that construction-related markets remained challenging but said positive order intake momentum and a more diversified business left it well positioned to pursue its strategy.
Jødahl said the group would continue investing in growth opportunities while taking action to improve efficiency and profitability across its operations.
