UK platform manufacturer Aldercote signs Ireland joint venture

UK vehicle mounted access platform manufacturer Aldercote has launched sister business Aldercote Ireland.

Aldercote Ireland is a joint venture between Aldercote and Mooretown Precision Engineering (MPE), an established manufacturer in County Meath, with over 25 years of experience in truck body building, access equipment fitting and nationwide maintenance.

Operating from Ratoath, Co. Meath, just outside Dublin, the new business is ideally placed to serve customers from Donegal to Cork.

Aldercote has supplied the Irish market for a number of years and the launch of a dedicated in-country operation marks a natural next step, said the company. It will combine Aldercote’s engineering pedigree and product range with Mooretown’s vehicle conversion experience, established industry relationships and nationwide service capability.

The company designs and manufactures its platforms in Hull, East Yorkshire, UK, and its customers include utilities firms such as telecoms operator Openreach and Irish energy provider ESB, as well as dozens of UK local authorities.

Platform kits and parts 

The new business will see Aldercote produce platform kits at its Hull facility and shipped to Ireland, where the platforms will be mounted on vehicles sourced from Irish dealers by the Aldercote Ireland team. A dedicated spare parts stockholding will also be maintained on-site, enabling fast turnaround and responsive after-sales support across the whole country.

With the launch of our new business we’re now offering our Irish customers a truly local service, backed by the manufacturing quality and technical expertise they already know us for.”

MPE was established in 1999 by Noel and Helena Carey and serves local authorities, utility companies, electrical contractors, rental companies and end users across Ireland.
