Aggreko has announced a new global management structure dividing its business into three regional areas: the Americas; Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA); and Asia Pacific and Australia (APAC).

It will promote existing managers for the Americas and APAC divisions but will recruit externally for the new EMEA division. As part of the reorganisation two experienced Aggreko executives, Kash Pandya and Bill Caplan, will leave the company in the second half of 2013.

The new regions replace an existing structure comprising Middle East & Developing Europe, Europe, North America, Aggreko International and the International Power Projects division (IPP).

Aggreko said the changes would create a better balance for the business, with each having the scale to generate efficiencies and each with a broad mix of local and IPP business.

The reorganisation means major changes in senior management at the company. Asterios Satrazemis, currently manager of Aggreko's Australia Pacific business, will return to the US to manage the Americas business (where he was a former Aggreko manager in North America).

Debajit Das, currently managing the Asia business, will add Australia Pacific to become head of the APAC region. The changes will become effective on 1 January 2013 and both men will join the Aggreko board.

Aggreko said it would strengthen its senior management team by recruiting an external candidate to run the new EMEA business.

The restructure also means that managing director positions at Aggreko International, Europe & Middle East and North America all become redundant.

Kash Pandya will continue to run Aggreko International and serve on the board until the end of the year, and will then support the transition to the new structure in the first half of 2013 before leaving the company in the second half of the year. Bill Caplan, currently regional director for Europe and the Middle East, will focus on Aggreko's Olympics business and business development initiatives before also leaving in the second half of 2013.

George Walker will continue to run US operations until the end of the year, and then step down from the board and take on responsibility for group sales and marketing. He will remain on the group executive committee.

Rupert Soames, Aggreko's group chief executive, said; "This new structure will give Aggreko the balance and focus it needs to continue to deliver growth. I would like to congratulate Debajit, Asterios and George on their appointments, and to thank Kash and Bill for their tremendous efforts on behalf of the group over the last five years."
