Development began on the construction of Aggreko’s new Asia Pacific regional headquarters in Jalan Buroh, Singapore on June 24. Senior representatives from the company, the Singapore’s Economic Development Board, JTC Corporation, British High Commission and United Kingdom Trade & Investment attended the groundbreaking ceremony.
At present, Aggreko’s Asia Pacific headquarters is responsible for operations in Singapore, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan and South Korea. The new facility will allow the company to grow over the next 30 years as it expands its service in the region.
Asia Pacific represented 24% of Aggreko’s group revenue last year, making it the largest area by revenue for the company.
Describing Asia Pacific as a "key region", Debajit Das, executive director Aggreko APAC, said: “Since we established our office in Singapore more than 20 years ago, the country has continued to be a strategic gateway for us to expand our operations and tap into long-term growth opportunities in the region.
"This investment is yet another step towards ensuring the provision of premium services to our ever-increasing range of customers, based across many markets".
Covering 11700 m2, the new building, located at Jalan Buroh, will have four storeys with a built-up area of approximately 7500 m2 and will include a reception and customer gallery, training facility, meeting rooms, recreation centre, dining facilities and a terrace garden.
