AFI information officially secure

24 May 2015

UK-based rental company AFI has achieved ISO 27001: 2013 certification, the internationally recognised standard in global information security management.

Chris Jowett, AFI group IT director, said, "Gaining this accreditation highlights that we have robust procedures and security in place to protect our systems and data. Having ISO 27001 is also a significant plus point when tendering because it is being increasingly requested, particularly by large companies and public sector customers."

“This independent certification means that our customers can rely on the integrity of our information security practices and that we are also fully prepared to counter any future security threats,” he added

"We gained the standard in just four months, which according to our consultant was the quickest he had seen. We were able to achieve it so quickly because we already had the majority of its requirements in place.”

During the past six months, the company has also gained the following standards:

Investors In People Gold accreditation; Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Gold accreditation; Safecontractor re-accreditation; 5 star Achilles BuildingConfidence re-accreditation.
