Access Rental Gulf UAE depot reaches construction milestone

Access Rental Gulf’s new purpose-built UAE depot in Al Layyan, Dubai Industrial City is approximately 65% completed, with the final phase now underway.

The new depot, strategically located between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, has made significant progress over recent months and is now moving into the next phase of development. The main depot buildings have been fully erected, the workshop structure is complete, the yard area has been finished, and the perimeter walls are now in place.

The project is currently progressing through its finishing and infrastructure stages, with rendering works underway and drainage and sewage systems being installed. These works will support the long-term functionality of the depot and ensure the facility is equipped to manage day-to-day operations, machine preparation, servicing, maintenance, and customer support.

Once fully operational, the new facility will become a central operational hub for Access Rental Gulf’s UAE business, bringing together workshop, service, PDI, maintenance, fleet support, and training operations within one purpose-built location.

Key operations 

By centralising key operational functions within one facility, the company says it will be able to improve communication, coordination, fleet preparation, machine turnaround times, and delivery and collection planning.

“This will help reduce unnecessary machine movements, support improved fleet availability, and strengthen customer service across construction, infrastructure, industrial, facilities management, oil and gas, telecoms, and other key sectors.”

Access Rental Gulf, which is part of the UK-based AFI group and is also located in Abu Dhabi, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Bahrain, expects the depot to be ready for operation by January 2027, subject to the continued progress of the remaining works.
