UK-based A-Plant has launched a new apprenticeship programme linked to its portable accommodation division.

The rental firm’s new Electrical Installation (Buildings & Structures) Apprenticeship has already taken on five apprentices to work in its accommodation division.

The successful candidates were chosen from 400 applicants, and welcomed to the firm by A-Plant’s director of accommodation, Ian Needham, at an induction event held at the company’s training centre in Nottingham.

Mr. Needham said: “Our move to launch the Electrical Installation Apprenticeship came about because we wanted to build our existing apprenticeship programme by offering a specific apprenticeship stream to support our accommodation division.

Apprentices will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of static and mobile cabins, welfare units and power generation products, under the guidance of A-Plant's fully qualified electricians.

A-Plant will work in partnership with training provider BEST to help apprentices achieve a Level 3 Diploma in Electro Technical Technology during the four-year course.
