A-Plant invests in accommodation

24 June 2016

UK rental company A-Plant’s Accommodation division has invested £2 million (€2.5 million) in Genquip Groundhog units to renew fleet of static and mobile welfare units.

The company said it had bought 84 Genquip Groundhog units, including eco-friendly static welfare units, and placed them on immediate hire to provide welfare facilities for operatives working on ‘smart motorway’ schemes to upgrade the M3 and M5 motorways.

Ian Needham, A-Plant director of Accommodation, said, “Over the last two years, we have invested almost £5 million (€6.3 million) with Genquip Groundhog as part of a major investment and enhancement programme for our accommodation fleet.

“The latest order ranges from mobile units which are easily towed, secured, manoeuvred on-site and accommodate up to six people, to the very latest in environmentally friendly and sustainable temporary accommodation.

"There is tremendous demand for the new units and we are delighted that many of these have gone straight out on hire for contracts involving upgrades to the motorway network.”

A-Plant Accommodation offers a hire fleet of over 16,000 units, from a single cabin to fully linked site complexes, through dedicated Accommodation Service Centres across the UK.

The range of temporary accommodation available includes mobile and static welfare units, green specification accommodation units, secure stores, fire certificated accommodation and multi-combination offices, canteens, drying rooms, toilets and shower units.
