A-Plant acquires McCarthy & Stone fleet
02 December 2015
UK rental company A-Plant has acquired a fleet of accommodation units from McCarthy & Stone and sealed a five-year supply agreement with the company.
A-Plant said the temporary site accommodation units would be used across the UK as part of its specialist Accommodation division, which has a fleet of over 16000 units from single toilets through to a complete contractors’ village.
It said the acquisition also included a five-year agreement to supply accommodation units to McCarthy & Stone.
A-Plant director of Accommodation Ian Needham said, “We are delighted to develop our relationship with McCarthy & Stone. They are divesting their Accommodation fleet due to impressive growth plans which would have meant a large element of hired site accommodation being necessary.
“Their fleet complements our existing range perfectly and have a significant amount of experience in this area, and have acquired a number of accommodation fleets from contractors over the years. Given our extended range and national coverage from 11 locations, we are able to offer a full site solution and remove the need for customers to own their own fleet.”
McCarthy & Stone director of communications Paul Teverson added, “We have a long-standing working relationship with A-Plant Accommodation and are pleased to continue and broaden our association by signing this 5-year agreement.
"A-Plant's expertise, extensive product range and national Service Centre network further supports our housebuilding programme and brings value to both partners.”
Earlier this year, A-Plant Accommodation placed one of its largest ever single orders for static and mobile welfare units, worth £3.2 million (€5.2 million). The company said it would invest a further £8 million (€11.3 million) over the next 12 months.
