WDS 2020 goes virtual

Due to the ongoing issues relating to the Coronavirus, the World Demolition Summit (WDS) – previously scheduled for Vienna, Austria later in the year – will now take place as a digital/virtual event,

It will be on the original date of Thursday November 12 and will take the form of a combined webinar and awards ceremony.

The webinar will be a modified version of the traditional conference programme, with fewer speakers and shorter presentations, but retaining the same project-based mix of innovation and best practice that the WDS presentations have become well known for.

The awards will follow the same entry and shortlisting process as in previous years, with the winners announced on November 12. The 2019 summit in Boston, USA, attracted a record entry across the 11 contractor and manufacturer categories and with entrants now able to watch the results from their home or office, the potential is there for an even greater take up this year.

Organised in co-operation with the European Demolition Association with the support of the National Demolition Association of the USA, the WDS is now in its 12^th year. The 2019 event was attended by more than 450 demolition contractors and other industry professionals.
