Star Platforms excels for ExCeL
09 August 2019
Star Platforms has provided 17 pieces of access equipment for a mystery event at London’s ExCeL Centre in the UK.
While details of the event have been kept quiet by its organisers, the access equipment was hired by a rigging draping provider working on the project. The provider used the platforms for the installation of light, sound and staging across 11 of the centre’s halls, including the main auditorium.
Star Platforms delivered 10 scissor lifts for production project, which included the Skyjack 3219 model with a working height of 7.8m and the Skyjack 4632 with a working height of 11.75m. Two Genie 3384RT diesel scissor lifts were also used on the project, providing a working height of 12.06m.
The company, which offers sales and rental services, also provided seven Niftylift Height Rider articulating boom lifts. With working heights ranging between 15 and 28m, the bi-energy engines are also equipped with non-marking tyres for indoor use.
It took a total of four days and almost 20 platforms to prepare all 11 venue halls for the one-day event.
