The deal comprises a large number of Komatsu’s 11.8 tonne zero tail swim excavators, along with 20 tonne, 27 tonne, 32 tonne and 45 tonne excavators from the manufacturer. Ridgway has also purchased a range of dozers and 27 tonne dump trucks.

The deal was struck with Komatsu dealer Marubeni-Komatsu, which is based in Redditch, UK.

The zero tail swing PC138US-11 models are EU Stage IV compliant and ideal for working in tight spaces. Ridgway’s purchase of the PC210LCi-11 excavators and D51PXi-24 and D61PXi-24 dozers feature Komatsu’s intelligent machine control. Ridgway said it was one of the first rental companies in the UK to offer such factory integrated technology.

The company employs a dedicated staff of 20 engineers along with delivery drivers. It has a fleet of over 450 units, and operates throughout the UK from 20 depots.

Ridgway has worked with Marubeni-Komatsu for some 25 years, and said it hoped to continue its relationship in the future.
