Remote Dynamics adds global satellite tracking
22 August 2008
The Redi Anywhere satellite monitoring system will use the Orbcomm data network and means that the company's Rediview software will now be capable of tracking equipment in remote regions.
Remote Dynamics, based in Plano, Texas, said it was launching the satellite-based service with a number of customers, including crawler crane rental company Lampson International of Kennewick, Washington, and mobile crane renter Bigge Crane and Rigging of San Leandro, California.
Bill Lampson, president and chief executive officer of Lampson International, said; "After a comprehensive search of asset management providers, we have selected Remote Dynamics as our service provider. They have proven themselves to have a unique understanding of the technology and our industry and we look forward to working with them in monitoring our cranes and equipment around the world."
Rediview is used by service, construction and equipment rental companies for real-time fuel management, utilisation analysis, maintenance management, and security monitoring.
Gary Hallgren, chief executive officer of Remote Dynamics, said; "The construction and oil and gas industries need one equipment management solution no matter where their assets are located. By combining satellite communications with our existing fixed and portable GSM platforms, we continue on our mission of being the most comprehensive asset management solution in the industry."
