Oil & Steel launches crawler and truck mounts

Oil & Steel has introduced two new crawler mounted platforms into the North American market at ConExpo, and said it will launch a 69 ft truck mount in the coming months.

The tracked Octopus 1800 Evo and 2300 Evo have 18 and 23 m working heights respectively, and join the existing 1400 Evo currently in the market. They are aimed at the rising niche area of tracked platforms in the US, which the manufacturer believes will grow 100% over the next year. The pair have been ANSI certified.

The 22 m (69 ft) Scorpian 69 non-insulated truck mount is part of a joint venture with a Wisconsin-based engineering company and will be aimed at all markets outside Europe. It will be supplied on a 7 tonne GVW chassis and is made of high strength steel with an electronic control system. The plan is to offer a reduced weight machine that will be an alternative to more expensive and heavy insulated models produced in the US. It will be followed by a 30 m version on up to a 10 tonne truck.
