Niftylift launches pair of electric booms

Niftylift is introducing two new low weight all-electric boom lifts, the HeightRider 15E (HR15E) and HeightRider 17E (HR17E).

The new HR15E and HR17E can lift two people and their tools to working heights of 15.7m and 17.2m, respectively, or a working outreach of 9.4m.

The HR15E will make its debut next week at the Vertikal Days exhibition in the UK. 

With both machines weighing less than 5 tonnes, they combine weight and space-saving design with a minimum turning circle to enhance manoeuvrability and reduce transportation costs.

Their 180° rotating cage and fly boom, coupled with fully proportional multi-function controls deliver precision when positioning the cage.

Battery system 

The installed batteries will last four times as long as standard battery-powered machines due to an efficient battery power system with an all-electric drive. This means, says the company, they can do considerably more work on a single charge while at the same time reducing running costs. Together with non-marking tyres as standard, the HR15E and HR17E are designed to be very versatile.

They are also designed to work inside or out but are particularly effective in locations where emissions or noise need to be limited, added the company.

The models both incorporate Niftylift’s ToughCage and SiOPS protection, eliminating sustained involuntary operation by instantly stopping machine movement if the operator is pushed onto the control console.

SDC Rating

The HR15E and HR17E booms utilise an advanced battery power system designed with an efficient all-electric drive that allows the batteries to work for significantly longer. Niftylift measures machine operation in Standard Duty Cycles (SDC Rating), with the units achieving an SDC Rating of 66 - at an ambient temperature of 25°C.

According to Niftylift, the industry standard SDC Rating for a typical working day is 16, which means they can potentially offer over four days of operation on a single charge.

Maintenance-free batteries

The units come with AGM maintenance-free batteries as standard and a full monitoring and protection system that monitors battery voltage, DC current in and out, and battery temperature. The system stops batteries from being discharged to less than 20% of full charge, preventing battery damage that can be caused by excessive deep battery discharge, with no performance loss.

Diagnostics

The models include onboard diagnostics screens at both base and cage, giving owners and operators more information than before to help identify faults and assist with maintenance activities.

Delivered via a web-based management portal and smartphone app, Niftylink is Niftylift’s new digital analytics tool that provides data insights on machine health, activity and location.

With over 70 parameters of machine data, Niftylink offers a greater understanding, says the manufacturer, of machine usage, performance and lifecycle, helping to maximise efficiency and improve profitability.

Niftylink remotely diagnoses machine issues and offers resolutions, increasing machine uptime, adds Niftylift. It also ensures owners have complete control and oversight over their entire fleet.
