Masterpac to open European sales office

Compaction and light equipment manufacturer Masterpac is to establish a new European sales office in Paris, France on 1 March 2010. The operation will be run by ex-Dynapac sales and marketing employee Ms Nathalie Nguyen.

The sales office will start with two sales people but the intention is to grow the department quickly. Masterpac, which has its origins in China, where it manufactures its products, already has a technical office in Reken, Germany, where design, training, parts and service functions are located, and this office will remain in place.

A spokesperson for the company said that the opening of a European sales office at a timer when the economy is depressed was a signal that Masterpac "believes that the changing world economy allows for opportunities for those who genuinely listen to the market demands.

"The international crisis has increased the demand for high customer-service level, shortened circuits between manufacturer and end-users, and for flexibility. At the same time rental companies and contractors have become even more aware that the quality-cost ratio of their construction equipment fleet is vital to their survival."

The company has been involved in manufacturing light equipment and compaction tools for over 10 years, including equipment for "well-known brands", but decided to launch its own brand in 2008.

The company's product range includes rammers, forward plate compactors, reversible plate compactors and duplex rollers. In addition it produces beams and screeds, poker vibrators, trowels, floor and table saws and dewatering pumps.

It will use the Bauma show to launch the new PCR8010 reversible plate compactor, an 800 kg plate, and the DVR65 double-drum walk-behind roller.
