JLG enters agriculture market

JLG is expanding into the agriculture market. The world’s largest manufacturer of access equipment has debuted a line of telehandlers geared toward the agriculture industry, while also naming Cody Rainer as director of channel development to lead JLG’s initiatives within the agricultural sector.

JLG is currently offering three telehandler models for agriculture use, with one - the AG925 - being new for the market. The additional two models are the company’s 3013 and G5-18A.

The AG925 was introduced in mid-September during the Ag Progress Days. The AG925 is an 8,800-pound-capacity model with a 24-foot ,9-inch maximum lift height. It features a “tight turning radius” and 25 mph max travel speed.

A wide range of available attachments include a variety of carriages, forks, buckets, bale handlers, personnel work platforms and an auger.

JLG has previously been involved in selling agricultural telehandlers through an agreement in Europe with Same Deutz-Fahr (SDF), which saw JLG producing SDF branded machines. That agreement started in 2004 and came to an end in 2017.

When equipped with a quick coupler, the AG925 can also be used with third party and skid steer attachments to move feed, bedding and hay across a variety of farm types including dairy, steer, hog and beef.

“JLG has a long history as the North American market leader in the construction telehandler category,” said Frank Nerenhausen, Oshkosh Corporation executive vice president and president of JLG Industries. “This experience gave us a solid foundation from which to build when it came to the design engineering and technical expertise needed to manufacture purpose-built models for the agricultural industry.”

JLG also announced Cody Rainer has been appointed as director of channel development to lead JLG’s initiatives within the agricultural sector.

Rainer has been with JLG for more than 10 years in a variety of sales-related roles, most recently serving as a district sales manager in the South-Central Region. Prior, he was part of the aftermarket sales team in the Great Plains states, where he focused on parts and service support.

In his role as director of channel development for North America, Rainer will be responsible for working to establish a dedicated dealer network for JLG agricultural telescopic handlers, while overseeing all sales and aftermarket efforts including parts, service and training. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University.
