Inmesol releases re-designed genset

Spanish supplier Inmesol has launched a new genset with a unified canopy design suitable for Euro Stage II engines, Euro Stage IIIA and Stage V compliant engines.

Features include steel plates in the canopy and frame, for added robustness, while the doors are equipped with punched metal plates on the inside, to protect the sound-attenuating panels throughout the life of the genset. All hinges and locks are heavy-duty.

The genset also has an enlarged frame projects around the perimeter of the canopy to avoid damage during handling on the work site.

The bottom of the frame now has additional skids, avoiding excessive wear or failure when the genset is towed, and a Qualicoat surface finishing has been included to provide “higher corrosion resistance than what is considered standard in the genset industry.”

The canopy is sealed with silicone free resins, to minimise the effects of corrosion and water ingress.

Rental versions of the genset feature a locking bar for the power cables under the control panel and a document holder.

Meanwhile a bunded chassis ensures the frame is leak-proof in all models, with a retention capacity for 120% of liquids contained in the genset.

The fuel tank’s large fill point, enables the Industrial and Stand-By versions to run for eight hours, while the rental version can run for 24 hours, with the fuel tank being equipped with baffle walls that improve the system stability during the genset transport.

Wide service doors are designed for accessibility and a front access door has also been included for radiator cleaning purposes.

Three- and six-way fuel valves and fuel quick hitches can also be fitted as an option in temporary applications.

The genset is designed for easy lifting and transport, with four lifting points in the frame; pockets in the frame adapted for forklifts, and a central lifting hook in the roof.

Inmesol says the “extra-quiet canopy” offers “extremely high sound-attenuation levels” through the use of thick layers of high-density, fireproof rock-wool in the enclosure’s surrounding.

Warm air is driven to the top of the genset where it is released, standard for the whole range. Only in engines equipped with the exhaust after-treatment system does the air release remain at the front, for the purpose of assuring good condition of the systems.

The rental versions are also fitted with a second exhaust silencer, along with upgraded sound attenuation in the air inlet ducts.
