Gehl debuts new telehandlers

Gehl has taken the wraps off six new Tier 4 Final telehandlers aimed for the North American market. The Gehl RS Series Gen: 2 telehandlers meet Tier 4 Final emission regulations with 120-hp Cummins QSF 3.8 Tier 4 engines.

The Gehl RS Series GEN:2 models include: RS6-42 GEN:2, RS8-42 GEN:2, RS8-44 GEN:2, RS10-44 GEN:2, RS10-55 GEN:2 and RS12-42 GEN:2.

The engine provides a 4 percent increase in horsepower and 6 percent increase in peak engine torque, compared to its Tier 4 Interim predecessor. It also uses about 5 percent less fuel with a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) exhaust cleaning system. An in-cab digital color display shows real-time fluid levels, engine RPM, machine hours, engine diagnostic codes, warning indicators and more.

The new RS Series GEN:2 Telescopic Handlers include welded box-section booms that can handle rated capacities from 5,500 to 12,000 pounds and lifting heights from 19 feet, 1 inch to 55 feet, 1 inch.

The machines also includes rear-axle stabilization system that locks the rear axle to improve stability whenever the boom is raised 60° or the parking brake is applied.

Self-leveling forks are standard and outriggers are standard on the RS10-55 GEN:2 and optional on other models.

Multiple tire options include standard air filled, foam filled, solid rubber, and rock-tread air or rock-tread foam.

Selective steering (standard) lets the operator choose between four-wheel, two-wheel, and crab.

The large, open-concept frame with high-mounted boom gives the operator a 360° degree view.

Dual joystick controls for all hydraulic boom functions are standard. An optional tri-function joystick incorporates the boom control functions into a single control lever.

Featuring a 17 percent increase in cab width over the Tier 4 Interim models, the operator’s station focuses on comfort and ergonomics. A premium, high-back mechanical suspension seat with a retractable seatbelt comes standard. A 12-volt accessory plug and lockable storage are under the seat.
