The European Rental Association has upgraded its total cost of ownership calculator (TCO Calculator) to include a new category of equipment: general construction (electric).

“This new feature will enable users to not only compare buy, rent or lease scenarios, but also machines with electric or diesel engines,” ERA said.

The ERA TCO Calculator now covers general construction equipment (diesel or electric) and excavators and loaders (wheel and track) > 15 T, and can be used to compare annual, monthly and daily costs in different scenarios.

The ERA says its free and independent ERA TCO Calculator “can help you make the right choice when deciding whether to own, rent or lease equipment. The Calculator can also be embedded on your website free of charge, bringing the benefits direct to your customers.”

The ERA has produced a video about the TCO Calculator and its benefits, which can be viewed here.
