Aggreko wins Vancouver Winter Olympics contract

Aggreko has won the contract to rent power and temperature control equipment for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic winter Games (VANOC) in Vancouver, Canada.
The company has signed an official supplier agreement with the Vancouver Organizing Committee, and will provide equipment at all of the venues throughout the games, including BC Place Stadium for the opening and closing ceremonies; the International Broadcast Centre; the Olympic and Paralympic Villages in Vancouver and Whistler, and all competition venues.
“Successfully staging the 2010 Winter Games requires an enormous amount of behind-the-scenes work and equipment, including the temporary power and temperature regulation”, said Dave Cobb, VANOC executive vice president, revenue, marketing and communications.

Aggreko has previously provided temporary power for the Atlanta 1996 olympics and the Salt Lake City 2002 winter games, and is currently installing over 135 MW of temporary power for the Beijing 2008 olympics.
