Ramirent to grow temporary space business

Finnish rental company Ramirent has launched a new sub-brand - Ramirent Temporary Space - to strengthen its position in this growing market.

In addition, the company said it had also opened a dedicated website to better serve its temporary space customers.

President and CEO Magnus Rosén said, “Ramirent is generally associated with the rental of machinery and equipment for the construction sector and general industry, but we also have a strong foothold in the temporary space business. As the market for temporary space solutions keeps growing, we aim to enhance our presence with the Ramirent Temporary Space sub-brand. Our aim is to double our Temporary Space net sales.”

Ramirent currently generates €30 million in annual sales from temporary space rental mainly in Sweden, Denmark and Norway, where it claims to be the market leader. Ramirent’s temporary space customers are found in the public, industrial and oil and gas sectors.

Mr Rosén added, “We aim to seek growth especially in the industry sector with our high-end accommodation and office modules solutions, and in the public sector with our module systems adapted for different operations including pre-schools, schools as well as health care centres. Ramirent’s temporary space modules are also well-positioned to respond to the increasing needs for eco-efficient solutions.”

In 2011, Ramirent took a step forward in the temporary space business by acquiring Rogaland Planbygg, a provider of rental accommodation and office modules to the oil and gas industry in Norway.

The push towards temporary access is part of a wider trend in the region. Rival Finnish rental company Cramo, for instance, also has a dedicated temporary access business – Cramo Adapteo.
