Kaeser expands and improves
Perhaps most obvious of the innovations from Kaeser at Intermat is the polyethylene rotomoule canopy, available since November 2008 for the five models, M20 to M50, of its range of trailer-mounted compressors. Kaeser said the corrosion resistant cover is more durable than the sheet metal versions also available, and that owners can exchange metal for polyethylene covers.
CompAir dealer finds niche rental business
German CompAir dealer Peter Gay Gmbh has found a niche business in renting compressors to help create protective curtains of air in water during marine operations, including bomb disposal work and subsea drilling.

US compressor and vacuum products manufacturer Gardner Denver Inc has acquired UK compressor manufacturer CompAir for US$395 million in cash and assumed debt. The acquisition, announced on 21 July, will be completed in the final quarter of the year.

Spanish rental company GAM bought Atlas Copco's Spanish rental business, Guimerá S.A., on 13 February for €18 million.
Atlas Copco sells half of ABIRD
Atlas Copco has sold approximately half of ABIRD, its Netherlands industrial rental company, to ABIRD's chief executive, Wichard Oorschot, and investment firm NPM Capital. The sale price was not disclosed.
