Kennards Hire Lift & Shift said it was now offering mechanical and hydraulic flange spreaders and pipe alignment tools at its branches across Australia.

The new tools are said to enable users to precisely align linear or rotational fixed flanges.

According to Kennards, the spreaders and pipe alignment tools were especially suited to work in the oil and gas industry, mining operations, water treatment and desalination works, and other public and private sector installation and maintenance works.

Not normally available for hire, Kennards said it decided to add these specialist tools to its inventory after receiving requests from customers in Queensland and Western Australia.

“Several of our specialist branches had received enquiries regarding flange spreaders and pipe alignment tools, which led to incorporating them into our growing product portfolio,” said Andrew Lambert, general manager, Kennards Hire Lift & Shift.

Flange spreaders and aligners were the preferred tool for medium and large high-pressure flanges, according to the company.

“Our range of alignment tools and flange spreaders are highly versatile in their application. They can be used to assist in the replacement of ring and other types of flange joints during construction, pipeline testing or for emergency or scheduled maintenance,” Mr Lambert explained.

The new flange spreaders and alignment tools followed the recent addition of two modular 300-tonne spreader beams to the Kennards Hire Lift & Shift Australian product offering.
