The Trevi Group’s subsidiary in Saudi Arabia has started the execution of the permanent foundation works for ‘The Line’ a futuristic and ambitious project under construction in the Tabuk area of Saudi Arabia.

Trevi Arabian Soil Contractor was the first piling contractor engaged in the piling activities at the site. The initial contract for the installation and testing of the preliminary test pile was executed between November 2021 and February 2022.

For the execution of the foundation works Trevi employs Soilmec equipment, which is an engineering division of the Trevi Group. The diameter of the piles is between 1.5-2.5m and the excavation depths are up to 70m from the work surface.

Soilmec SR-90 and SR-100 are currently present and operating on site, with plans to employ SR-115/SR-125 and SR-135 in the near future.

The workforce currently employs about 150 people but this will increase to 250 once the construction site is working at full capacity.

The Line, the first phase of which is set to cost US$319 billion, will be 170km-long, 500m tall, and run across the north west of Saudi Arabia. But the wall-like city will only be 200m-wide. The futuristic city will be home to nine million people and will consist of a series of communities laid out in a straight line, running from the Red Sea coast in the northwest of the country to the interior, crossing deserts and mountains.
