Aggreko expands Bali power output

Temporary power provider Aggreko has announced it is expanding its power projects in Bali, Indonesia, by 45 MW, bringing its total power output to 170 MW.

The expansion follows on from the successful re-tendering for the 125 MW of capacity it already delivers to the Indonesian city. The combined 170 MW of capacity will meet 23% of total electricity demand in Bali.

The 45 MW capacity expansion will be installed at Pesanggaran, Bali. The expansion was commissioned by Indonesia Power subsidiary PT Cogindo Daya Bersama and comes at an important time for Bali, with demand for energy increasing by 9.75% each year as its tourism sector continues to grow.

“With Bali attracting an estimated 300000 visitors each month, tourism is vital to the local community’s economic prosperity,” said Mangampin Saragi, president director of PT Cogindo Daya Bersama. “The addition of 45 MW into the grid reflects our desire to strengthen the region’s energy infrastructure and ensure Bali remains an attractive destination.”
