The company, which is based in Belluno in Italy’s Veneto region and has been in operation since 1960s, rented the machines to local construction company Alfarè and the event’s organiser, Cortina 2021 Foundation.

The fleet provided by Franco Clò comprised Hitachi’s ZW140-5, ZW150-6 and ZW180-6 model wheeled loaders, and the manufacturer’s ZX210-5 and ZX130-6 excavators.

The machines were used to help build the event’s audience stands and VIP areas, and for clearing snow to the ski slopes and the race’s arrival area.

Andrea Clò, owner of Franco Clò Srl, said, “We felt proud to provide Hitachi machines to customers working on such a special event.”

Franco Clò, which provides rental, sales and repairs services for a range of small and mid-sized equipment, supplied the fleet on an exclusive rental contract for the sporting competition.

The Hitachi machines will remain on standby for the duration of the sporting event, and will also maintain the ski slopes during and after competition.

Running until Sun, 21 February, the 2021 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships is being broadcast around the world and is expected to be watched by around 500 million people.
