New ‘Smart Assist’ system from Weber MT

By Murray Pollok13 September 2022

German compaction specialist Weber MT will use Bauma to launch Weber Smart Assist (WSA), a system to prevent damage to machines and provide troubleshooting guidance.

The device, which will also integrate an upagraded version of the COMPATROL compaction control tool, analyses signals from sensors in the machine and warns the operator of possible issues.

It will also provide step-by-step guidance for users, such as how to clean a clogged air filter or replace a filter.

The system will be launched as an option on its reversible soil compactors, the CR 6, CR 7, CR 8 and CR 9, with models marked with the designation WSA. These machines are in the 400 to 700 kg weight capacity range, delivering centrifugal forces from 55 to 100 kN.

Also at Bauma, Weber will add the new walk-behind vibration roller, the HPR 65, for asphalt applications. The design concept is “engine in the front – water tank in the back”.

With a width of 65 cm, the roller is powered by a KD15-440 Kohler diesel engine equipped with an electric starter.

Weber has meanwhile given its lightweight CF-1 vibratory plate a “complete overhaul”, now coming in a version for asphalt that includes a water sprinkler system.

The manufacturer will show the new range of battery powered forward and reverse plates, tampers and rollers that were introduced earlier this year. These machines are all powered by a Honda GXE 2.0 DC-engine powered by a 720 Wh lithium-ion battery.
